Living in colder climates like northern Alberta has more effects on your home then most people think, especially in the drywall industry. Factors like Humidity, Cold weather and Heat and dry air make it important from homeowners to have regular checks and repairs on there drywall (Gomez, 2024). Humidity affects drywall because of its moist nature that weakens the drywall overtime due to the drywall absorbing the moisture. Furthermore, Cold weather and ironically dry air can lead to structural damage that make drywall brittle and cause the drywall to crack. Due to these factors, it is important for homeowners to remain proactive and check their drywall every new season (Gomez, 2024).
